BLIZZARD!
This morning I woke up and checked the forecast. We have been expecting snow and wanted to know how far away it was. I was greated with a blizzard warning starting at noon and extending until six this evening. JOY! I have never been in a blizzard, this will be a first. Well, it didn't start really start snowing until sometime between 6 and 8:45. I don't know when b/c I was asleep. I crashed hard. I woke up to the sound of my answering machine resetting. The power flickered. I get up and the wind is howling. Currently a constant forty something miles an hour with stronger gusts. I checked and we are now in Blizzard watch. Which I suppose means the blizzard is upon us. I can't tell you how helpless I feel with my truck ailing. I don't like driving around on snow anyway and it is magnified a thousand times because of my vehicle problems. So I am in a de facto state of trapped. At the moment we have far more wind than snow, but we can expect accumulations of five to eight inches. Although most of that will melt off on Tuesday. It isn't supposed to be much warmer, but the ground hasn't cooled off enough for the snow to stick. When I moved to Nebraska I figured that snow would cover the ground constantly through the winter. Fortunately that isn't true, but it does get cold and stay cold. This next week is supposed to be in the lower forties for highs. Winter is upon at last and it looks here to stay. I miss summer. I am fixing to work on some photos to get posted.
